摘要:好的图书馆公共关系项目能够有效的介绍图书馆的丰富资源与服务, 增进并保护图书馆在社区的地位与形象, 可为图书馆争取到立法部门及公众的支持. 主讲人会谈及图书馆公共关系项目的筹划；争取上级经费支援的方式；联络图书馆员工, 社区及公益组织, 及义工们的同心合力支援公共关系活动。主讲人会分享一些

解决问题的经验。

这篇讲文包括一份简短有关社区图书馆代表参加加州图书馆学会每年一度的游说立法机关日活动报告。图书馆代表游说活动的目的是培养州政府立法委员和他们的幕僚对图书馆工作成就的了解和认定，以增加州政府立法委员对图书馆经费及政治上的支助。

Good public relations can effectively introduce library services and resources, advocate and protect the positive image and position of the library in the community, and garner public and legislative support for the library. Presenter will share strategies that include planning; getting administrative and funding support; involving staff, community organizations and volunteers. Problem solving examples will be shared.

Presentation will include a short report about local library community’s participation in California Library Association’s Legislative Day. These advocacy activities aim to educate state legislators and their staff about the needs and achievements of local libraries, and to gain legislators’ funding and political support.
